DJ Mike Castiel – Country DJ for festivals and events in Quebec
Mike Castiel | Country DJ, festivals and events
A DJ since 1997, Mike Castiel brings extensive experience to the decks, with a strong specialization in country music since 2014. His musical repertoire blends country classics, the latest hits, and popular line-dancing tracks, alongside his own remixes, mashups, and "YEEDM" edits—a fusion of country and electronic dance music.
This approach allows him to deliver high-energy performances for festivals, bars, outdoor events, and country-themed nights, while remaining versatile enough to adapt to weddings, proms, corporate events, neighborhood block parties, and other gatherings that require a broader, more general-interest playlist.
His experience spans everything from large-scale public events and festivals to local community gatherings—always with the same goal: tailoring the music to the audience and creating an atmosphere that keeps people on the dance floor.

A country specialty, with a program that adapts to the audience
Country remains Mike’s musical signature. However, he knows how to adapt his selection to the specific setting, the age of the audience, and the desired vibe.
For a country-themed evening, he can draw from classic hits, new releases, current chart-toppers, and popular line-dancing tracks. His "YEEDM" remixes and mashups then add an electronic, high-energy dimension to the performance.
For events not strictly focused on country music, Mike can shift gears entirely, offering a playlist centered on radio hits, popular favorites, party classics, and club anthems.
Whether the crowd has come specifically for country music or simply wants to dance, sing along, and enjoy a great night out, Mike is the perfect fit.
DJ for high school proms
For a high school or university formal, Mike can tailor his playlist to a younger crowd looking for a dynamic, contemporary experience.
The music can blend current radio hits and popular tracks—songs the students already know—with high-energy remixes and club anthems designed to keep the dance floor packed.
Depending on the setting or the event’s theme, a touch of country music can also be incorporated, though the repertoire is by no means limited to that style.
The goal is to craft a musical journey that evolves throughout the night: starting with crowd-pleasing anthems to get people moving, building toward higher-energy tracks as the dance floor fills up, and continuously adapting the selection based on the crowd’s energy and reactions.
Mike also brings extensive experience from working on student formals and events for young adults, notably through his work with Master D.
DJ for weddings
Although country music is his specialty, Mike can also serve as a wedding DJ for couples who primarily want an evening focused on music and dancing.
The playlist can be tailored to the tastes of the couple and their guests, featuring a mix of classics, popular hits, current chart-toppers, country music, or club-style tracks—depending on the desired atmosphere.
For a country- or Western-themed wedding, his expertise is a significant asset; he can seamlessly incorporate more country music, line dancing, and "YEEDM" (country-EDM fusion) sounds.
However, a wedding doesn’t need to be country-themed for Mike to be an excellent choice. He can also curate a broader, more general-interest playlist—perfect for couples who want a dance floor packed with popular songs and well-known hits that appeal to multiple generations.
Following a wedding at Domaine de l'Artisan in Brigham, the clients noted that their guests thoroughly enjoyed the music—especially Mike’s country-electro remixes.
DJ for corporate events
Mike can also be hired for a variety of corporate events, including company parties, recognition evenings, Christmas parties, cocktail receptions followed by dancing, or events designed for employees and clients.
His musical repertoire can be much broader than his image as a country DJ might suggest. For a standard corporate event, he can focus on radio hits, popular chart-toppers, and tracks that appeal to multiple generations.
Conversely, a company hosting a country-themed evening, a corporate barbecue, a summer outing, or a Western-themed event can take full advantage of his specialized expertise.
This versatility means you can choose Mike just as easily for his deep knowledge of country music as for his ability to adapt to any event where the primary goal is simply to create a fantastic musical atmosphere.
DJ for neighborhood parties and community events
Mike’s experience also extends to neighborhood parties and community events, where a DJ must be able to connect with a diverse audience—from children and parents to adults simply looking to enjoy the evening.
Since 2022, for instance, he has been involved in the Halloween party held on Rue Notre-Dame in Lachine—a local event that brings residents together for a festive evening.
Events of this nature require a different approach to programming compared to a nightclub or a country music festival. The music must be accessible, inclusive, and varied enough to suit different moments throughout the evening while appealing to multiple generations.
Mike is therefore able to tailor his selection for neighborhood parties, community gatherings, summer festivals, street events, and other celebrations where the musical atmosphere plays a direct role in creating an enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Festivals, bars, and public events
Festivals and public events, however, represent an environment in which Mike possesses particularly relevant experience.
His recent work includes the Grand Prix Festival on Crescent Street in Montreal, the Beach Country Festival, the Saint-Tite Western Festival, the Calixa-Lavallée Agricultural Fair, and various country-themed nights at bars and other venues.
He also has extensive, ongoing experience in settings where the music must constantly adapt to the energy of the crowd—most notably in bars that host country-themed events.
For such engagements, Mike is an excellent choice when an event already has its own technical infrastructure in place and is primarily looking for a DJ to handle the musical programming.
A collaboration with the technical production team of Master D
Mike focuses on his role as a DJ and can work in collaboration with Master D when an event requires technical production.
For weddings, dances, corporate events, neighborhood block parties, or public events that require a full-scale setup, Master D can handle the sound, lighting, and other technical production requirements, while bringing Mike onto the team as the DJ.
This approach is especially advantageous when a client prefers to bundle DJ services and technical production under a single team.
Conversely, for festivals, bars, clubs, or other venues that are already technically equipped, you can contact Mike directly for his DJ services.
A musical approach designed for the dance floor
Mike does more than just play a list of country songs. His approach is rooted in how music actually resonates with an audience.
His repertoire blends country classics and new hits with tracks curated for dancing, alongside "YEEDM" (country-EDM) remixes and mashups designed to dial up the energy of the evening.
It is this ability to transition from country to mainstream hits—and then to high-energy tracks when the moment calls for it—that allows him to adapt to a wide variety of events.
Whether the crowd has gathered for country music, a high school prom, a wedding, a neighborhood block party, or a corporate celebration, his priority remains the same: ensuring the music connects with the people in front of him.
