David Lavallée | DJ, host, and event producer
Professional DJ since 2000 | Initial experience starting in 1996
David Lavallée, better known as DJ Master D, is a DJ and event host based in Repentigny, in the Lanaudière region. Having founded his company, Master D, in 2000, he brings over 25 years of professional experience to weddings, corporate functions, graduation balls, university events, festivals, and public celebrations.
Throughout his career, he has performed at numerous clubs, concert venues, prestigious establishments, and large-scale gatherings across Quebec.
His approach combines musical diversity, expert mixing techniques, engaging hosting, and a keen understanding of his audience. His background as a producer and technical director also allows him to contribute to the organization and successful execution of more complex event productions.
Whether performing solo or alongside other DJs and hosts from the Master D team, his goal remains the same: to create an atmosphere perfectly tailored to the guests and to ensure an unforgettable experience on the dance floor.
Based in Repentigny, he travels throughout the Lanaudière region, Laval, the North Shore, Greater Montreal, and beyond in Quebec.

Wedding DJ: an atmosphere that reflects the bride and groom
Weddings are among the events where attentive listening and personalization are of the utmost importance.
Every couple has their own musical tastes, traditions, and unique way of celebrating. DJ Master D therefore tailors his services to the flow of the day—from the ceremony or cocktail hour (if included) to the couple’s grand entrance, dinner, introductions, planned activities, and the evening dance.
The goal is to ensure seamless transitions between more formal moments and festive periods, all while honoring the couple’s musical preferences.
Weddings with very different atmospheres
In 2021, DJ Master D provided music and hosting services for a wedding with 75 guests at the Hôtel Mont-Gabriel in Sainte-Adèle, while also assisting with planning and technical production.
The couple specifically highlighted the personalized nature of his service—noting that "the hosting and music truly reflected who we are"—as well as his availability and flexibility throughout the planning process.

In 2019, the desired atmosphere was entirely different for a wedding of 130 guests at the Hôtel Gouverneur in Shawinigan (now known as Hôtel Énergie).
As fans of electronic music and club culture, the couple wanted an energetic dance floor complemented by video projections. After the event, they confirmed that the club-style vibe they were looking for was perfectly achieved, and they praised David for his mixes and his ability to bring all the guests together.

DJ Master D also collaborates with other artists on his team. For a 2024 wedding at the Domaine de l'Artisan in Brigham, David handled the hosting duties, while DJ Mike Castiel managed the music programming. The couple thanked both artists for an evening that exceeded their expectations.
DJ for high school proms and university parties
With a background rooted in the college and university environment, DJ Master D possesses extensive experience in hosting student parties, graduation balls, and major end-of-studies celebrations.
These events require a strong grasp of current musical trends, a high-energy playlist, and the ability to seamlessly blend new releases, popular chart-toppers, party classics, and specific song requests from the crowd.
Official DJ for numerous university associations
Beginning in 2003, DJ Master D became a regular collaborator and the official DJ for several student associations and university faculties.
Over the years, he has performed at events for HEC Montréal, the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), and ITR (Ingénierie Trois-Rivières), as well as for programs in pharmacy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, optometry, and nursing at the Université de Montréal.
These collaborations have included orientation events, themed parties, "5-to-7" (happy hour) gatherings, balls, galas, and fundraising events—sometimes drawing hundreds of attendees.
They have also provided him the opportunity to perform at iconic Montreal venues, including the Olympic Stadium Tower, Bain Mathieu, the Montreal Science Centre, Marché Bonsecours, the Mount Royal Chalet, Club Soda, Théâtre Plaza, The Medley, and New City Gas.
Some of these venues have since closed, been repurposed, or are no longer available for events of this nature.
Graduation dances that get everyone moving
In 2024 and 2025, DJ Master D, alongside DJ Wonder, provided entertainment for events including the graduation formal for Félix-Leclerc Secondary School (Repentigny), held at the Club de golf Métropolitain in Anjou.
These events, which hosted approximately 300 attendees, featured a comprehensive package including DJ services, hosting, sound systems, lighting, and other event production elements.
Following the 2024 event, the organizers praised the music selection, the remixes, and the DJs' versatility, noting that "the students had a blast!"

David also continues to collaborate with university associations, notably for the Université de Montréal (UdeM) optometry graduation formals held at Estérel Resort.
From 2023 to 2025, he oversaw event production and performed as a DJ alongside DJ Wonder. For the 2026 edition, he managed the planning, decor, and technical production, while DJ Mike Castiel handled the music.
DJ for office parties, galas, and corporate events
DJ Master D partners with companies, professional associations, and conference organizers to create engaging corporate events that bring people together.
Whether it’s a Christmas party, an awards gala, a golf tournament, a company anniversary, or a closing event for a conference, the music and hosting must align with the organizer’s objectives while ensuring guests have a great time.
Long-standing corporate partnerships
Between 2017 and 2023, DJ Master D provided entertainment for the Montreal Firefighters Association (Association des pompiers de Montréal) galas—held at venues such as the Montreal Science Centre—which brought together approximately 400 guests.
Since 2023, David has also been involved in the golf tournament galas for the APCHQ (Mauricie–Lanaudière chapter), hosted at the Montcalm Golf Club in Saint-Liguori and the Ki-8-Eb Golf Club in Trois-Rivières.
These events, which typically host around 300 attendees, feature a full range of services: DJing, event hosting, microphone support, sound systems for speeches, and audiovisual production.
In a 2026 review, the client highlighted the team’s professionalism, attentiveness, and proactive approach.
DJ Master D also regularly participates in staff events for Estérel Resort, including those held between 2023 and 2025.
In December 2025, he shared the DJ booth with DJ Pulse—also known as Dominic Napolitano—at the La Vallée Golf Club in Sainte-Adèle.
Following the event, a representative from the venue thanked the team and wrote to David: "You truly are the experts!"

Since 2021, David has also collaborated on various corporate events for Patrick Morin, where he has helped host the evenings, incorporate quizzes, and ensure the smooth running of activities.
These engagements demonstrate his ability to tailor his work to the specific needs of organizers and the unique requirements of each event.
DJ for festivals, neighborhood parties, and public events
DJ Master D also possesses extensive experience with public festivities, where the musical programming must appeal to a diverse and often multi-generational audience.
In 2007, he performed on stage at the *Tout pour la musique* festival in Berthierville.
From 2018 to 2023, he served as the DJ for the Canada Day celebrations organized by the City of Côte Saint-Luc.
He has also provided musical entertainment for community events and fundraising campaigns, including the City of Montreal’s *Jeux de la rue* (Street Games) in 2006, as well as the *Relais pour la vie* (Relay for Life) events in Saint-Lazare (2008) and Autray/Berthierville (2015 and 2016).
More recently, in 2025, he managed the technical aspects of the *Grand Rassemblement Préma-Québec* in a park in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood, working in tandem with DJ Charley.
City of Chambly Neighborhood Festivals
Since 2022, DJ Master D and the Master D team have been involved in the City of Chambly’s neighborhood festivals, handling the music, hosting, and various technical aspects of these summer celebrations.
These events bring residents together for family-friendly activities, games, and musical entertainment in various municipal parks.
In 2025, the City of Chambly’s Recreation Department highlighted the team’s contribution to these summer festivities, which saw over 5,500 residents enjoy the facilities and entertainment provided.
This collaboration demonstrates the ability of DJ Master D and DJ Wonder to tailor their microphone presence and musical programming to a family-oriented audience.
DJ for bars, clubs, and festive events
Alongside his work with private and corporate events, DJ Master D has built extensive experience performing in bars, clubs, and entertainment venues.
From 2005 to 2007, he served as the official DJ for university nights at Club Lounge Eleven.
Between 2005 and 2020, he also collaborated as a DJ with several artist agencies, performing at a wide variety of venues across Montreal and Quebec.
His track record includes appearances at Club La Boom, Café Campus, 1012 Chasse-Galerie, Bar Le Rolls, Bar Le Syndrome, Pinokkio, Belmont, Diable Vert, Peel Pub, and Upper Club, as well as various concert halls and event spaces.
He held a Friday residency at Tonic Bar in Pierrefonds in 2015, performed at several corporate events at Saint Édouard in Montreal in 2018 and Biaggi's Bar & Trattoria in Repentigny in 2022, and later served as a recurring Friday-night DJ at Tusker Cuisine et Pub in Berthierville from 2023 to 2025.
These experiences have allowed him to stay current with musical trends, refine his mixing techniques, and adapt to the ever-changing energy of a dance floor.
DJ Master D’s background: a musical passion since 1996
It was in 1996 that David Lavallée first gained experience as an amateur DJ, selecting and mixing music for family gatherings and parties with friends.
From 1998 to 2000, while in his final two years of high school, he took part in his school’s student radio station, where he developed his comfort behind the microphone and an interest in hosting.
He continued to pursue this passion at the Cégep régional de Lanaudière in Joliette from 2000 to 2003, participating in student radio and providing musical entertainment for various student events.
Between 2003 and 2006, he was also active with the student radio station at HEC Montréal, contributing to the school’s traditional Thursday "4-to-7" (happy hour) events and other gatherings organized by HEC student associations—experiences that helped him hone his skills in managing university-style events.
From 2020 to 2022, DJ Master D continued this tradition of sharing music by hosting weekly live performances on Twitch.tv.
Many of his best broadcasts later served as the foundation for about thirty audio mixes—ranging in length from 1 hour 30 minutes to 7 hours 55 minutes—which bring together a variety of musical styles and eras.
These mixes offer a glimpse into another side of his work as a DJ, free from the specific constraints often associated with private or corporate events.
A musical program tailored to each audience
DJ Master D possesses a musical background cultivated over decades of performing at university parties, clubs, corporate events, and private celebrations.
His influences span a wide range of genres, including electronic music, house, EDM, hip-hop, R&B, reggaeton, pop-rock, punk-rock, and alternative music—not to mention the major hits of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, right up to today’s latest releases.
This versatility is essential for an event DJ.
A wedding may bring together guests from several different generations. A corporate party gathers colleagues who may have vastly different tastes, while a student event often requires a more contemporary and high-energy playlist.
For David, the best musical selection is one that resonates with the people in the room, rather than one that merely reflects the DJ’s own personal preferences.
He therefore takes the time to learn about the organizers' preferences—identifying key songs, preferred styles, and any genres to avoid.
During the event, he adjusts his transitions and the musical intensity based on the guests' reactions and the energy on the dance floor.
Bilingual DJ and host: much more than just playing music
Throughout his career, David has regularly combined the roles of DJ and host, allowing him to play a direct part in how events unfold.
Depending on the requirements, he can make announcements, introduce guests of honor, present speeches, coordinate key moments, and manage transitions between different activities.
He can also host in French, English, or both languages for events that bring together a bilingual audience.
Games and activities tailored to your audience
In addition to traditional DJ services, DJ Master D offers a range of interactive games and activities developed by the Master D team over the years.
These activities are selected in consultation with the event organizers, based on the type of event, the number of guests, and the desired atmosphere.
Some groups prefer a subtle, elegant approach, while others may opt for inter-table challenges, quizzes, or engaging games designed to encourage participation.
David tailors his approach to each event, rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all formula.
His background as a producer is also a significant asset, ensuring that schedules are respected, potential changes to the program are anticipated, and the contributions of various other vendors are well-coordinated.
DJ Master D and DJ Wonder: a particularly dynamic DJ duo
Among the most significant collaborations in his career is his partnership with DJ Wonder, also known as Steve Champagne.
Friends for many years, David and Steve work together regularly as part of Master D, a company they now co-own. DJ Wonder has been active as a DJ and host since 2006.
Over the years, they have developed their own unique approach to sharing the DJ booth.
When performing as a duo, they might swap turns every twenty minutes, or even with every single song, building off each other’s musical selections.
This rapport brings a distinct energy to an event: transitions become more frequent, musical styles shift rapidly, and both DJs work in tandem to keep the crowd’s excitement high.
A team of DJs and hosts for events of all sizes
For certain events, notably large corporate parties and graduation balls, Master D offers teams consisting of two DJs and an MC, or even three DJ-MCs.
These setups are frequently used for productions that require a more active presence on the microphone, collaborative musical performances, or more complex coordination.
Depending on the project, DJ Master D may collaborate with artists such as DJ Wonder, DJ Charley, DJ Mike Castiel, DJ Wally, DJ Lil Tom, DJ Steve Watt, DJ Tropiks, DJ Pulse, and other members of the team.
Producer and technical director: expertise that complements the DJ’s role
One of the unique aspects of David Lavallée is that his role extends beyond that of a DJ and host.
By founding Master D in 2000, he gradually built a company specializing in the production of conferences and events—a business that now encompasses planning, coordination, decor, sound, lighting, audiovisual services, and artist management.
This experience gives him a comprehensive understanding of all the requirements for an event, from the initial preparatory meetings to the technical execution throughout the evening.
When working as a DJ, he is able to anticipate venue-specific constraints, account for the flow of presentations, and collaborate effectively with other professionals involved.
Depending on the mandate, he can also serve as a producer, planner, coordinator, or technical director—without necessarily acting as the DJ for the event.
Productions in which music and technology work together
Since 2000, I have provided DJ and hosting services for a wide range of private, corporate, and public events. From recurring galas and large-scale graduation balls to neighborhood block parties and weddings, these experiences demonstrate my ability to tailor music and entertainment to highly diverse audiences and settings.
Sound reinforcement, lighting, and video jockeying
A performance by DJ Master D can be complemented by various technical services offered by the company, including sound systems, microphones, ambient lighting, moving lights, and projections on large screens.
For events featuring screens or video walls, a Video Jockey (VJ) service can also be added, allowing for the display of music videos or visual effects synchronized with the music.
These options are particularly well-suited for high school proms, large corporate parties, and club-themed events.
All equipment and services are tailored to the venue, the number of guests, and the desired level of production, with full details provided in the quote.
